This vintage round locket is beautifully finished in warm 9ct rose gold and hangs from a 9ct yellow gold cable chain, opening on a hinge to reveal two frames for keeping cherished photographs close. Its surface is decorated with engine-turned stripes—known as guilloché—a precision technique where a mechanical lathe incises fine, evenly spaced grooves into the metal, creating the crisp linear pattern that became a hallmark of Art Deco design.

Lockets have carried deep sentimental meaning since as early as the 15th century, evolving from Elizabethan portrait pendants into treasured Victorian keepsakes for photographs, hair, and mementos of loved ones.
