This Vintage Victorian 1900s locket features a delicate ring of rich blue enamel encircling a cultured pearl set at the heart of a six-pointed enamel star, all crafted in warm 18ct yellow gold. Star motifs were a favoured symbol in period jewellery for their association with guidance and direction, making them a popular choice for sentimental pieces like lockets meant to be carried close to the wearer.

The locket's reverse displays fine scrolling engraved decoration surrounding an empty cartouche, a blank shield-shaped panel left deliberately unengraved so the original owner, or a future one, could personalise it with initials or a monogram. This combination of ornate front and quietly unfinished back was a common design convention in turn-of-the-century lockets, balancing decorative flourish with a space reserved for personal meaning.
