This Deja Vu bracelet from the 2000s is crafted in warm 9ct yellow gold as a hollow double curb link design, measuring 7.6mm wide and 19cm long, and finished with a substantial bolt-ring style clasp. Its "double" construction pairs two rows of twisted, interlocking curb links side by side, giving the bracelet a fuller, more textured woven look than a standard single curb chain while the hollow build keeps it comfortably lightweight on the wrist.
The curb link itself has a distinctly practical origin, evolving from the flattened, interlocking links used on a horse's curb bit before Victorian gentlemen adopted the style for pocket watch (Albert) chains in the 19th century. Each link is twisted so it lies flat against the skin, a construction that gives curb chains their signature rope-like, uniform surface and enduring strength and versatility across centuries of jewellery design. By fashioning this classic link pattern in hollow gold, the bracelet achieves the same bold, polished presence as a solid curb chain while remaining easy and comfortable to wear every day.
