The ring is crafted in smooth, substantial 14ct yellow gold in a sleek gypsy-style setting—a design highly favoured during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, where the stones are set flush with the surrounding gold for a seamless, protective, and highly wearable profile.
The true stars of this piece are the three magnificent Old European cut diamonds, boasting a combined weight of 1.36cts. The Old European cut was the precursor to the modern round brilliant, cut entirely by hand between the 1890s and 1930s. These stones were specifically designed to sparkle under gas and candlelight, prioritising deep, rainbow-coloured fire. Because they were hand-cut, every Old European diamond is entirely unique, characterised by a small table, a high crown, and a distinctive open culet at the base.
